News for May 9 - 13th
Literacy:
- We are continuing our novel study on "Flying Solo" by Ralph Fletcher. Students are working in class on reading the chapters, answering comprehension questions, defining vocabulary words, outlining plot, and sketching out characters. We will be working as a class, groups, and individually. If students use their time wisely they should keep up the pace; our literacy period will be used for reading and writing time will be dedicated to the packet that goes along with the book.
Math:
- Finishing up PLATO testing
- We will be doing some review and going further in depth with graphing and interpreting data. Chapter 7 in the Math book, lessons, 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. We will do an assessment on Friday over the material.
Social Studies:
- All research for our World Tour country projects should be completed by Monday morning. Students have had ample time to work in class and will have more time this coming week. Written papers are due Thursday, May 12th (about 2 paragraphs per bullet point along with bibliography of sources) so students will have time to work on their tri-fold parts. Tri-folds should be purchased and brought into class no later than Thursday, May 12th!
*May 10th, Last Day to check out library books!
**May 13th: Sleep Over - Congratulations to Rebecca, Carlos, and Ivanna for being nominated.
*** Friday, May 13th - Last Day for all clubs.
